The Heavy Metals Band - Sea Sheperd Brazil

A HEAVY METAL BAND, NAMED HEAVY METALS, SINGING ABOUT THE HEAVY METALS FOUND IN FISH.

With the intention of raising awareness among the public about fish contamination by heavy metals and highlighting the interconnectedness of human health and the health of the ocean, members of the bands Megadeth, Dead Fish, and Ratos de Porão have come together to create a band. Titled Heavy Metals Band, the project is a partnership with Sea Shepherd Brazil, an organization dedicated to projects for the oceanic ecosystem.

The initiative was conceived by Wieden+Kennedy São Paulo with audio production by Mugshot. Among the band members are Rodrigo Lima, vocalist of the band Dead Fish; Dirk Verbeuren, drummer of Megadeth; Juninho Sangiorgio, bassist of Ratos de Porão, and Iara Bertolaccini, former guitarist of Blastfemme. As vegan or vegetarian enthusiasts, the musicians have combined their talents to create the single "Ciclo Metal," available in Portuguese and English. The project also includes a music video created by the British studio Fromm.
